History of Piccolo
The Piccolo itself was never invented, but was originally nothing
different
as a half " normal " transverse
flute - even a" Piccolo Querfloete".
In 1735 the "flute a' l` octave" was mentioned in France, few times later in Germany.
Some years later there are orchestra occupations, which prescribes a Piccolo. Because of the revolutionary innovation Theobald Böhms the Piccolo in the orchestra itself developed further. In the folk- music and the army the old model with only few flaps were prefered.
